MESSAGE FROM CEO Thailand’s art and craft is gaining more popularity and having a strong influence on the designing and decorating industry, thanks to its uniqueness which was inherited from the sophisticated skillful masters combined with the creativity of the new generation designers. The SUPPORT Arts and Craft International Centre of Thailand (SAICT), as the main authority supporting the development of the country’s art and craft, has been pursuing many projects for the innovative development and has created the new kind of crafts called “Navatasilp” as a new alternative for the market. SACICT PROTOTYPES 2014 Mrs. Pimpapaan Chansilpa CEO of SACICT SACICT has published the book “SACICT PROTOTYPES 2014” as a collection of innovative crafts created by SACICT under 4 main projects ; SACICT PROTOTYPES FOR MAISON & OBJET 2014, Global Ethnics, Greencrafts, and Lipao Development Prect. These prototypes represent a combination of the skill and knowledge of artisans and innovative ideas of the Thai outstanding designers. The book is also a guidance for craft creation, introducing the ideas of the designers CEO of SACIC whose products have already been presented in the national and international markets such as at the Interior- lifestyle Tokyo, Japan; Maison & Objet in Paris, France; the Organic & Natural Expo, as well as at the International Innovative Craft Fair (IICF); SACICT Craft Trend; and Thailand’s Innovative Arts for Her Majesty The Queen etc. SACICT hopes that the book “SACICT PROTOTYPES 2014” will give an inspiration for creating Thai crafts, which can not only create a life-making skill for the people but also maintain the unique wisdom of Thailand. 06 SACICT PROTOTYPES 2014
