การทำงานของครูนั้น ครูจะปรับการออกแบบลวดลายผ้าไหมแพรวาจากสิ่งรอบตัวและธรรมชาติมาไว้ในผ้า รวมถึงการประยุกต์ลายผ้าใหม่ๆ ขึ้นมาอย่างมีเอกลักษณ์ โดยมีการนำลายผ้าออกบางส่วน เช่น ลายคั่นเพื่อความสะดวกในการตัดเย็บ การสร้างลายจะวาดลงกระดาษกราฟก่อน แล้วนำไปลงสีโดยใช้คอมพิวเตอร์มาช่วย หลังจากนั้นจะเก็บลายในผ้าแซ่ว ผ้าต้นแบบของผ้าไหมแพรวา จึงเริ่มย้อมสีไหม กวักไหม ค้นไหม และสืบไหม เพื่อที่จะนำมาลงกี่ทอผ้า สมัยก่อนจะเป็นสีเดียวล้วน แต่เดี๋ยวนี้มีการนำสีมาผสมในแบบต่างๆ เช่น สีพาสเทล สีฟ้าผสมขาว ทำให้ถูกใจผู้ใช้งาน โดยเฉพาะผู้หญิงยุคปัจจุบัน

“Conserve the wisdom of Phu Tai PraeWa silk”

In working, the teacher will adjust the design of patterns of Prae Wa silk from the surroundings and nature including applying the new patterns uniquely by removing some parts of patterns, for example, the stripes for the convenience in making. In creating the pattern, it will be drawn into the graph paper first and be painted by using computer. After that, the patterns are stored in PhaSaew which is the model type of PraeWa silk. Then, the process is followed by dying the silk, picking the silk, and pulling silk in order to put into the loom. In the past, it is in mono-color. However, the colors are variously mixed such as pastel, whitish blue attractive to the users especially modern women.
