ปัจจุบันครูทำหน้าที่บริหารจัดการเรื่องภูมิปัญญาผ้าทอ เป็นผู้คิดค้นลายผ้าชื่อ ลายดอกแคทราย หากคิดถึงผ้าจกราชบุรีก็จะคิดถึง ดร.อุดม สมพร ผู้ซึ่งมีความตั้งใจที่จะสร้างลายผ้าเพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์ว่าครั้งหนึ่งสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ ได้เสด็จฯ มาที่ศูนย์ผ้าจกราชบุรี ท่านมีพระราชดำริให้ปลูกต้นแคทรายอันเป็นพืชประจำท้องถิ่น บนสถานที่ที่ครูได้ตั้งโรงเรียนสอนทอผ้าขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรก จึงนำเอารูปทรงและสีสันของดอกแคทรายมาใส่ในลายผ้าเป็นที่ระลึก ครูรวบรวมองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับผ้าจกภูมิปัญญาไท-ยวน แล้วทำโปรแกรมข้อมูลลายผ้าพื้นบ้าน 9 ลาย อันเป็นลายโบราณ 8 ลาย และลายดอกแคทรายอีก 1 ลาย เพื่อให้ชาวบ้านได้ใช้เป็นต้นแบบการทอผ้า ซึ่งก่อให้เกิดการรับรู้สู่ภูมิปัญญาชาวบ้าน ให้ได้เรียนรู้ลวดลายแห่งวัฒนธรรม และเป็นการรักษาภูมิปัญญาของบรรพชนมิให้สูญหายไป

“All patterns of cloths are the heritage from their ancestors. If we keep them as cloths, they will be forgotten someday. Therefore, we will keep knowledge of Pha Jok here…”

Presently, the master is managing woven fabric wisdom and the inventor of Kae Sai floral pattern. If you think of Ratchaburi Jok fabric, you will thing of Dr.Udom Somporn, who has created the pattern as reminiscence that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has visited Ratchaburi Jok Fabric Center. H.R.H. Highness Princess suggested that Kae Sai (Stereospermum neuranthum Kurz), which is a local plant, be grown on the land where Dr.Udom had established the weaving training school. Therefore, the form and color of Kae Sai have been used as the model of fabric pattern as reminiscence of the event. The master collected knowledge of Tai-Yuan Pha Jok and made the program containing the information of 9 local fabric patterns, which consist of 8 ancient patterns and 1 Kae Sai pattern, so that local people can use it as the model for weaving. This will help increase awareness of local wisdom. People can learn the pattern culture and preserve the ancestors’ inheritance.
