ศิลปะการทอผ้าแพรวาเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของชาวภูไท นางอุบลรัตน์ ชาพา ทายาทครูศิลป์ของแผ่นดิน คำสอน สระทอง ได้สืบทอดและรักษาไว้ซึ่งลวดลายดั้งเดิมทั้งลายหลัก ลายคั่น ลายช่อเชิงปลาย และคิดค้นลายผ้าไหมใหม่ๆ ปรับประยุกต์วิธีการทำแม่แบบลายผ้า โดยใช้วิธีจุดลายลงบนกระดาษ ทำให้เก็บขิดลายได้ง่าย และมีความชัดเจนเวลาทอ และได้นำเทคนิคการทอผ้าแบบ “เขาลาย” หรือ “ตะกอลาย” มาใช้ ทำให้เพิ่มความสะดวกในการสร้างลวดลายแพรวา ช่วยให้การทอเป็นแบบเดียวกันอย่างเป็นระบบตลอดทั้งผืน ซึ่งเป็นภูมิปัญญามรดกล้ำค่าที่สืบต่อจากมารดา

“Inherits Prawa Woven, the valuable wisdom of Phuthai Tribe”

The art of Prawa silk weaving is a unique of Phuthai tribe. Mrs. Ubolrat Chapa, a successor of national art teacher, Mr. Khamson Srathong. She has inherited and preserved the traditional striped pattern, which essentially marks the end of an interstitial pattern bouquet striped silk and invented new ones. She even adjusted template pattern by dropping pattern onto the paper which made product finishing technique more easily and clearer when weaving. She also used technique of weaving called "Khao lai" or "Takorlai" to make it more convenient to create the pattern. These techniques help woven more systematic as a whole piece. This wisdom is a precious heritage that passed on from her mother.
