การทำหนังตะลุง – รูปหนังของครูสุชาติ มีจุดเด่นคือ ครูยังคงใช้กระบวนการผลิตแบบโบราณ กล่าวคือครูจะฟอกหนังซึ่งถือเป็นหัวใจของการทำรูปหนังตะลุงด้วยตนเอง อีกทั้งยังเป็นผู้ออกแบบรูปหนังตะลุง รวมถึงการสร้างสรรค์และพัฒนารูปหนังตะลุง เพื่อเป็นสินค้าของที่ระลึกอย่างสม่ำเสมอ จนช่างทำรูปหนังคนอื่นๆ นำไปเป็นแบบอย่าง การแสดงหนังตะลุงของครูยังคงยึดธรรมเนียมการแสดงหนังตะลุงแบบโบราณ คือไม่นำเครื่องดนตรีสากลเข้ามาประกอบในการแสดงเด็ดขาด ด้วยความเชื่อมั่นว่า “เครื่องห้า” ได้แก่ โหม่ง ฉิ่ง ทับ กลองตุ๊ก และปี่ เป็นเครื่องดนตรีที่ไพเราะและก่อให้เกิดสุนทรีย์ในการแสดงที่สุดแล้ว และยังเน้นการใช้กลอนให้เหมาะกับเนื้อเรื่องและบทบาทตัวละคร และให้ข้อมูลข่าวสารคติสอนใจควบคู่ไปกับความบันเทิง

Making of shadow play – Master Suchart’s shadow play characters are unique for using ancient techniques to make. In other words, the master will conduct tanning which is the vital process of shadow play making by himself. He also creates the characters and develops them for selling as souvenirs. This has been successful and became the model for other shadow play makers. His shadow play still relies on ancient performance, that is, no international music instruments are used during the performance as it is believed that “Five Instruments”, which are gong, cymbal, “tone”, “klong tuk”, and pipe, produce the most perfect melody and aesthetics. Also, the performance focuses on reciting poems along with the story and the character roles as well as reflecting goodness along with entertainment.
