แรงบันดาลใจของครูในการทอเสื่อลายขิดนี้เกิดจากความประทับใจในผ้าลายขิดที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของเมืองยโสธรที่ครูสอนหนังสืออยู่ จึงคิดที่จะนำมาประยุกต์ให้เข้ากับเสื่อซึ่งเป็นงานหัตถกรรมเช่นเดียวกับผ้า และได้นำมาเสนอโรงเรียนจัดเป็นรายวิชาสาระเพิ่มเติมเพื่อถ่ายทอดและปลูกฝังให้นักเรียนได้ตระหนัก รักและหวงแหนในภูมิปัญญาชาวบ้านของคนไทยดิฉันคิดว่าการทอเสื่อนั้นไม่ใช่เรื่องที่ยากเกินตัวและไม่ไกลตัวเรา จึงอยากจะฝากให้เด็กเยาวชนไทยได้ตระหนักถึงภูมิปัญญาชาวบ้าน และอยากให้ร่วมกันอนุรักษ์และสิบสานการทอเสื่อกกที่เป็นภูมิปัญญาของเราเอาไว้

“From ordinary mats, they are developed to produce Khid mats to create income to the community.”

The Teacher is inspired to make the Khid mats from the impression in the Khid pattern cloth which is the uniqueness of Yasothorn which Teacher is teaching. She thinks of applying to mats which are the handicrafts as same as cloth. She proposes to the schools to create as the supplementary subject for teaching and raising the students to love and want to conserve Thai local wisdoms. I think that weaving mats is not too difficult and not too far from ourselves. Therefore, I would like to tell Thai youth to realize the local wisdom and try to conserve and further mat weaving which is our wisdom.
