Repair and construction of work is regarded as maintenance of ancient artistic knowledge. With an ability to use various kinds of chisels, we start with the first step called “Klone”,which is the most important part of carvings. Then, we continue engraving more deeply, adding more patterns, trimming the edge, and making the patterns clear. The knowledge we have collected has been employed to repair The Royal Barge Suphannahong by engraving the prime pattern or “Lai Ek” or “Pad Chon Tok Lung” patterning technique, to repair The Royal Barge Anantanakkharat by using “Lob Med Tang” patterning technique and to repair The Royal Barge Narai Song Suban by using “Pad Phanom Bab Krit” patterning technique.
