เอกลักษณ์ของงานครูคือการทำเครื่องเบญจรงค์ใหม่เลียนแบบของเก่าได้อย่างแนบเนียน แรงบันดาลใจในการทำงานอยู่ที่ความรักในเครื่องเบญจรงค์โบราณ ยิ่งเห็นยิ่งอยากรู้อยากทำ ยอมไปเริ่มต้นเรียนตั้งแต่พื้นฐานทั้งๆ ที่อายุก็มากแล้ว ครูวิรัตน์ยังคงใช้กรรมวิธีผลิตเครื่องถ้วยชามเบญจรงค์ที่เน้นความประณีต ใช้พู่กันในการเติมสีแทนการลงสีแบบนูน งานเพ้นท์สี รวมถึงคุณภาพของน้ำทองที่มีอายุการใช้งานได้นานกว่า จึงทำให้แต่ละผลงานใช้เวลาค่อนข้างมากแต่มีคุณภาพดี ทำให้ได้ผลงานที่ออกมาใกล้เคียงกับของโบราณและยังได้กลิ่นไอของงานศิลปะทำมืออย่างครบถ้วน จนเป็นที่ต้องการและยอมรับของตลาดในปัจจุบัน รวมถึงเปิดบ้านเป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์เบญจรงค์สำหรับผู้ที่สนใจจะศึกษาหาข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับเครื่องเบญจรงค์โบราณได้เข้ามาชมกัน

For the uniqueness of Benjarong, Teacher Wirat still uses the methods of producing Benjarong with delicacy by using the paintbrush instead of coloring in dimension. The painting includes the quality of gold with the longer usage life causing each work takes quite a long time but the quality is good. Teacher Wirat is the Teacher who can create the work similarly to the ancient work with the complete touch of handicraft until being requested and acceptable in the current markets as well as being the sources of knowledge to the groups of students and general people.
