“ผีตาโขน” คือสัญลักษณ์อย่างหนึ่งของ จ.เลย ซึ่ง นายอภิชาติ คำเกษมประธานกลุ่มศิลปะพื้นบ้านผีตาโขน และเครื่องปั้นดินเผา จ.เลยอธิบายถึงความหมายว่าเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของผีบรรพบุรุษที่มาดูแลบุตรหลานปกติหน้ากากของผีตาโขนจะผลิตขึ้นจากกาบมะพร้าว แล้ววาดเป็นรูปหน้าคนยังได้พัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์จากเซรามิกพัฒนาขึ้นเป็นแก้วที่ระลึกผีตาโขน โดยมี 2 ลวดลาย คือลวดลายโบราณซึ่งเป็นลายหน้าของคนที่แทนผีบรรพบุรุษตามความเชื่อของคนในลุ่มน้ำโขงและลวดลายสมัยใหม่ที่ได้อิทธิพลจากหัวโขน ซึ่งเป็นลายหน้าสัตว์แต่ยังมีความต้องการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ในรูปแบบอื่นๆ

“Create the value to Ta Khon masks with handicraft.”

“Ta Khon masks” are one of the symbols of Loei. Mr. Apichart Kumkasem, President of local art group of Ta Khon mask and ceramics explains that it is the symbol of ancestor spirits coming to take care of their descendants. Generally, Ta Khon masks are made from the spathe painted into the human face. It is also developed into ceramic products developed into the Ta Knon souvenir glasses. There are 2 patters; the ancient pattern which is the pattern of human representing the ancestor spirits following the belief of Nam Khong people and the modern pattern being influenced from the Khon masks which are the animal faces. However, there is still the demand to develop the products into other forms.
