แม่ประนอม ทาแปง ศิลปินแห่งชาติ สาขาทัศนศิลป์ (ประณีตศิลป์ – ศิลปะผ้าทอ) พ.ศ.2553 ที่ใช้เวลากว่า 30 ปี สร้างสรรค์ผลงานหัตถศิลป์รวบรวมไว้ที่ศูนย์การเรียนรู้ผ้าจกเมืองลอง จังหวัดแพร่ กว่าจะได้ลายโคมช่อน้อยตุงชัย ที่เกิดจากการจกเส้นฝ้าย 5 สีมงคล ประนอม ทาแปง ต้องใช้เวลาไม่น้อย นี่คือหนึ่งในลายผ้าโบราณ ที่ศิลปินแห่งชาติท่านนี้แกะลายจากเศษผ้าเก่าเพียงชิ้นเดียวที่พบในวัดสะแล่ง จังหวัดแพร่ เมื่อเกือบ 30 ปีก่อน จนเป็นหนึ่งในเอกลักษณ์ของผ้าตีนจกเมืองลอง ตลอดชีวิตการเป็นช่างทอผ้าไม่เพียงสืบทอดลายเก่า แต่ยังคิดค้นลวดลายใหม่ๆ อยู่เสมอ ชุบชีวิตให้กับลายผ้าโบราณภูมิปัญญาไทยวน

Mrs. Pranom Tapaeng, who is the National Artist, Visual Arts (Fine Arts – Woven Textile) of the year 2010 has spent over 30 years to create visual arts which have been compiled at Chok Muang Long Textile Learning Center in Prae. She had spent many years to finish this pattern. She has created this pattern based on the interpretation of the pattern on a small piece of ancient cloth found in Salaeng Temple in Prae 30 years ago. This newlt created pattern became the signature of Chok Muang Long textile. Throughout her life, Pranom has not only inherited the ancient patterns but also created new ones. She is the one who give new a life to Tai-Yuan traditional patterned cloths.
