การทอผ้าตีนจกของหาดเสี้ยวนั้นจะใช้เทคนิคในการทอแบบพิเศษ คือ ใช้ ‘ขนเม่น’ ในการจกฝ้ายจากด้านล่างขึ้นด้านบน บนเส้นยืนเพื่อให้เกิดลวดลายตามที่ต้องการ ใช้เวลานานในการทอผ้าให้เสร็จแต่ละผืน บ่งบอกถึงความวิริยะอุตสาหะของผู้ทอผ้า และงานผ้าทอที่ได้ออกมาจึงมีความประณีต และมีลวดลายเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของตนเอง โครงสร้างของผ้าตีนจกแบบโบราณส่วนใหญ่จะมี 3 ส่วน ได้แก่ หัวซิ่น ตัวซิ่น และ ตีนซิ่นหรือตีนจกนั่นเอง การให้สีสันในสมัยก่อน ส่วนใหญ่จะใช้ตัวซิ่นสีเขียว ตีนซิ่นจะเป็นพื้นแดงและลายจกจะใช้สีเหลืองเป็นหลัก ลายตีนจกแบบโบราณจะมีอยู่ 9 ลาย อันได้แก่ ลายเครือน้อย ลายเครือกลาง ลายเครือใหญ่ ลายสี่ขอ ลายแปดขอ ลายน้ำอ่าง ลายสองท้อง ลายมนสิบหก และลายสิบสองหน่วยตัด ซึ่งแต่ละลวดลายนั้นจะมีลักษณะพิเศษแตกต่างกัน

“Porcupine quill is the secret of Hadsiew skirts. I don’t know what other use to weave the textile, but I use a porcupine quill.”

The specific technique of Hadsiew woven textile is using ‘porcupine quills” to pull threads from the bottom to the top on vertical lines to make desirable patterns. It takes a long time to finish each piece of cloth, so it reflects a great attempt and patience of the weaver. The finished cloth is gorgeous and unique. Ancient Jok textile consists of 3 parts which are the top, the body and the bottom or “Teen Jok”. The body is mostly in green color while the bottom part is red and the pattern is mainly yellow. The ancient “Teen Jok” consists of 9 different patterns including Kruenoi, Krueklang, Krueyai, Sikhor, Padkhor, Nam-ang, Songtong, Monsiphok, and Sipsong Nuaytud. Each of these patterns depicts different characteristics.
