ผมมีความรู้สึกอยู่ตลอดว่า งานช่างที่เป็นงานฝีมืออย่างงานทำเครื่องรักนี้ ถ้าเรานำเอาศิลปะมาผสานด้วยวิธีการทำงานแบบนักวิทยาศาสตร์ คือมีการทดลอง มีการบันทึกสถิติต่างๆ และอัตราส่วนของวัตถุดิบ เช่น การผสมสีของน้ำยางรัก ยิ่งทำผมก็ยิ่งรู้จักและเข้าใจในรักมากยิ่งขึ้นว่าเราสามารถควบคุมคุณภาพ สี ของงานได้ไม่ยากเลย รูปแบบของชิ้นงานก็เช่นกัน ถ้าเราไม่ฉีกตัวออกมาจากรูปแบบดั้งเดิม หน้าตาของงานก็จะออกมาเหมือนกันหมด อยากให้ทุกคนสร้างเอกลักษณ์ของงานตัวเองขึ้นมา เพื่อสร้างสีสันให้แก่เครื่องเขินไทย และจะได้เห็นการพัฒนาของผลิตภัณฑ์เครื่องเขินในรูปแบบต่างๆ ซึ่งเรื่องนี้คงต้องเป็นหน้าที่ของคนรุ่นใหม่ที่จะนำไปต่อยอดอีกต่อไป

I always feel that we can combine a complicated craft like lacquerware with scientific a methods, which is experiment and record of statistics and proportion of raw materials including the mixture of lacquer colors. The more I work on it, the more I know, understand and love it. I know it is easy to control the quality of the color of products. It is the same for the forms, if we did not try making a difference, we would never create new things. I wish that everyone can create their signature work for the benefit of Thai lacquerware. I think it is the duty of young generations to learn and develop the craft further.
