เอกลักษณ์ผ้ากาบบัวจะประกอบด้วยเส้นยืนย้อมอย่างน้อยสองสีเป็นริ้วตามลักษณะ “ซิ่นทิว” ซึ่งเป็นผ้าขวางลำตัว ทอพุ่งด้วย 3 เทคนิค คือ มัดหมี่ การควบเส้นสีมับไม (เอาไหมสองสีมาปั่นเกลียวเป็นหางกระรอก) และการขิดหรือยก โดยเริ่มจากขิด 1 ไม้ 2 ไม้ เป็นลายจุดไข่ปลา ลายบักจับหรือลายดอก ลายจกดาว ลายเขี้ยวปลา จนมาสู่การขิดหรือยกที่เป็นลายเยียรบับลาวในผ้ากาบบัว ซึ่งทอด้วยเส้นทองทำให้ลวดลายเด่นชัดกว่าสีพื้น อีกทั้งได้มีการนำเทคนิคดั้งเดิมผสมผสานกับความทันสมัยด้วยการทอผ้ามัดหมี่ และสอดเสริมเส้นพุ่งด้วยลูกปัดแก้ว หิน เม็ดเงิน ใช้เทคนิคการล้วงหรือ Tapestry Weave มาผสานงานมัดหมี่ของอีสาน เกิดเป็นลวดลายที่สวยงาม

Product: Kab Bua textile

“The heart of work is making KabBua textile with all you heart at every stage.”

The uniqueness of Kab Bua textile is that it consists of at least two colors of dyed vertical threads, which is called “Sin Tew” style. It is the horizontal cloth woven with 3 techniques including Mudmee, mixture of two colored threads and “Khid” or pulling up. It starts with pulling up 1 or 2 times to make dotted pattern, flower pattern, Jok Dao pattern, and KiewPla pattern. Then, pull up to make Yearabub Dao pattern in Kab Bua cloth which is woven with gold threads and more obvious than its background color. Original technique has been combined withMudmee technique and decorated with glass beads, stone or silver beads using Tapestry Weave technique.
